It’s London Design Week this week and there are so many exciting new launches, products, collaborations and pop-ups that I can’t wait to see! One that I’ve been looking forward to is the The Sofa and Chair Company pop-up. The luxury sofa and furniture specialists have teamed up with leading fabric houses Designers Guild, Jason D’Souza and Romo to re-imagine some of their classic pieces in the new Spring 2019 collections from the fabric houses. The pop-up is titled ‘Partners’ and is located at 320 Kings Road, Chelsea between 9-24th March. ‘Partners’ presents emerging interior design trends through seven different concepts demonstrated in room sets, the underlying thread through all of these is the interaction between colour and texture with colour ways such as green, mustard, pink and blue working alongside intricate textured weaves and abstract prints. Key pieces on display will be the Parker chair, adorned with Jason D’Souza rich caramel fabric set against a Romo linen sheer curtain and the iconic Sofa & Chair Company love sofa has a smart new look in a sophisticated check from Romo which you will be able to see in the window display. The bedroom features a calm palette of green […] The post The Sofa & Chair Company ‘Partners’ Pop-Up appeared first on Interior Style Hunter - Luxury Interior Design Blog. from https://interiorstylehunter.com/the-sofa-chair-company-partners-pop-up/

Following on from one of our most popular posts which is all about how to create a moodboard, we asked the members of our private Facebook group to send in a moodboard, whether it was related to a project they’re working on or have worked on. Or simply a moodboard that showcased their own unique style. We were extremely surprised with the huge number of entries, many of which were truly fantastic, making our job of selecting our favourites very difficult! Thank you to everyone that sent one in. We’ll certainly be running more of these in the future! Here are our 9 favourite moodboards: Tania Azadian Interiors This is of a Master Bedroom suite scheme from a luxury residential project I completed at the end of last year. The client had expressed a desire for modern touches to the property, but without wanting to sacrifice the phenomenal period charm which had initially attracted them to the building. Taking this into consideration, LLI Design decided to work in a way which would modernise the house at the same time as accentuating those Victorian features, such as the ornate plaster ceilings and the sweeping staircase. A fusion of old and new With the property’s Victorian heritage utmost in mind, many of the alterations the LLI Design team made were to harmonise those stylish modern touches with the unique historical features already preserved. In the entrance hallway, the designers opted for a classic black and white pattern which gave the illusion of added light and space, while a stunning Victorian-inspired nursery suite was added to the front of the house. In the living and dining rooms, the high Victorian ceilings were carefully restored and new life breathed into the ornate plasterwork and coving. To accentuate the wonderful Victorian fireplaces, the team commissioned bespoke joinery for […] The post Victorian Townhouse by luxury interior design studio LLI Design appeared first on Interior Style Hunter - Luxury Interior Design Blog. from https://interiorstylehunter.com/victorian-townhouse-by-luxury-interior-design-studio-lli-design/

Needless to say, there are a plethora of options when it comes to designing your bedroom, although paying attention to particular features can assist you in designing your desired luxury bedroom. When beginning to design your luxury bedroom, make a note of what you’ve seen around that you like and also think about the sort of positive and relaxed feeling you want to invoke. You can then begin to note which pieces, whether decorative or practical, need to be removed, adjusted or added to be in line with your luxury interior design. Though you can design your luxury bedroom as it suits you, more often than not intricate details and layering are key to a professional look. This blog post covers the basic elements of your bedroom design which need to be catered to when it comes to designing your own and maybe even an award winning luxury bedroom. The Bed When it comes to the luxury interior design of your bedroom the bed acts as the centrepiece, with its […] The post How to Design a Luxury Bedroom appeared first on Interior Style Hunter - Luxury Interior Design Blog. from https://interiorstylehunter.com/design-luxury-bedroom/ Successful interior design for living rooms can be very reliant on the feng shui principles of the ancient Chinese. Good feng shui creates harmony in homes and relies on the best placement of furniture and objects to build up positive and healing energy flows. Many people have said that creating feng shui layouts in the home has been really beneficial for their mental health and wellbeing. The following tips can help you plan a feng shui layout for your large open plan living space: One of the main feng shui principles to follow when planning your living area is to keep lines of sight as open as possible. This builds positive chi energy flow and adds a wide-open feel to the layout while increasing the amount of natural light in the room. Furniture with a low profile should be used to avoid blocking chi energies and colour schemes that delight the eye of any observer should be utilised through the entire space. It’s also important to set identifiable boundaries within any open plan layout in order to define the purpose of each space. If the room encompasses a kitchen area, dining area and open plan living room, you can define […] The post Feng shui open plan living room ideas appeared first on Interior Style Hunter - Luxury Interior Design Blog. from https://interiorstylehunter.com/feng-shui-open-plan-living-room-ideas/ I don’t often report back on new collections or product launches as brands do communicate these pretty well and I don’t like repeating what’s already out on the web, but this collaboration between these interior super brands got me very excited. So much so, that I’ve been sending the images that I took at the press preview to a lot of my VIP contacts telling them to have a look. The Hirondelles is a classic chinoiserie style pattern designed by master wallpaper designers Fromental. Being very careful to leave space for the finest crystal makers, Lalique, to add their magnetic Hirondelles (swallows) and dahlias to the design. Together, the design leaps off the wall and surprises you with the most beautiful light reflection off the silk paper and crystal pieces. At this level of design, it’s always about the detail, and the find hand painting and embroidery sets this design apart. The clever use of magnets within the swallows, means that this design is interactive too. Obviously it needs to be installed on a magnetic surface, but you are able to move the swallows around, and that’s very special and unique. Both houses are experts in their field and if […] The post Lalique and Fromental collaborate on ‘Hirondelles’ appeared first on Interior Style Hunter - Luxury Interior Design Blog. from https://interiorstylehunter.com/lalique-and-fromental-collaborate-on-hirondelles/ Ever heard of the term “User Generated Content” ? Well it’s a big deal in the digital world and while you may not know the term you’re doing it all the time – creating content by posting on your Facebook, Instagram and other social media channels. Why is this form of discussion and communication so popular? Because it’s usually free, easy, quick and a wonderful way to share your thoughts, opinions and experiences. In real life, this exists too and it’s called a Barcamp format – originally created by geek groups (we say this lovingly) and later adapted by many other interest groups. The point: Instead of panel or speaker format, actual event attendees get to create a topic, post it and invite others to join the conversation and at KBIS, we’re doing just that with the newly minted KBIS THINK. To participate is very easy, just follow the steps below and before you know it, you too can be surrounded by an attentive audience or discussion round on a topic of your choosing.

Glazed extensions are becoming increasing popular and with the UK’s questionable weather, it’s easy to see why! Westbury Garden Rooms design, plan, manufacture and build beautiful bespoke glazed and timber rooms; including orangeries, conservatories, garden rooms, kitchen extensions and pool houses. It is a family run business, with a large state-of-the-art workshop where a team of joiners craft their rooms using modern technologies and traditional techniques. Their service prides itself on being personal and diligent. Everything is undertaken in-house and the end result is a timeless extension that you can use all through the year. There are three main types of popular glazed extensions in the UK, garden room extensions, orangeries and conservatories – all of which create extra space and flood a home with natural sunlight. Due to their glazed roof, traditional conservatories often overheat in the summer while feeling cooler in the winter, therefore they are not particularly suited to our weather conditions! This combined with the need for sustainability has led to huge growth in the number of wood or timber […] The post Bringing the outside in with Westbury Garden Rooms appeared first on Interior Style Hunter - Luxury Interior Design Blog. from https://interiorstylehunter.com/bringing-the-outside-in-with-westbury-garden-rooms/ For me, 2019 is about innovation and reinventing the way we do things. In times of uncertainty, I think two things happen. We become cautious and go into protection mode, we focus on our family and of course protecting our wealth. But being cautious is quite hard work, so we’re also on the lookout for what’s new and exciting, not just any old new, but what’s truly innovative and engaging. So there are two extremes, a natural state of caution, but also this eye on the horizon looking for what’s new. Brands need to work hard to attract our attention, and there’s no point in just repeating what you do year on year, not in this new age. I feel that social media is losing its edge, it’s not just about posting images anymore, no, what are you doing in the real world that is truly engaging. That’s what people want to see now. One of my favourite examples of this is the Holi festival hosted by fashion brand Saloni. They don’t have stores, instead, they have redirected that ‘rent’ budget into creating experiences that connect them to their clients in a personal and meaningful way. Of course, all this activity […] The post Being innovative in 2019 appeared first on Interior Style Hunter - Luxury Interior Design Blog. from https://interiorstylehunter.com/being-innovative/ |
